"I cannot see that James Callis is straight."

ninamazing: Black-and-white close up of Cosima from Orphan Black smoking. (top me up bitch!)
Once upon a time, [livejournal.com profile] roz_mcclure did a Shakespeare Balloon Poll.

And once upon another time, I was born a vicious copycat.

So here we are.

[livejournal.com profile] roz_mcclure: [note: all science in this is shit. because it is a balloon poll, and therefore about the most important questions of human survival, like, "who would you push out first, the loyal sidekick or the dashing antagonist?" SO THE WAY YOU PLAY IS: you vote for whoever you would throw out of the balloon, not who you want to stay in. Every few days, whoever has the most votes gets pitched over the edge and a new poll is put up with the remaining cast. JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE!]

I was totally thinking about who would win in a fight, Rapunzel or Snow White, and then I realized: THIS SHOULD BE A FAIRY TALES BALLOON POLL.

[Poll #1366231]

I am actually really excited to write hilarious, irreverent, wildly meta, smushy fairy tale fanfiction in smirking manner of Fables. PLZ, LET'S DO THIS! (And I promise not to make it all weird and lame with Snow White and the dude.)

P.S. Check it out, [livejournal.com profile] leiascully, you're my title quote again. ;)

I WILL TELL... WELL, AT LEAST ONE PERSON I KNOW WHO'S ON LJ.

And you'll be fine, there's no standards on fairy tale knowledge - it's 80% childhood and intuition! (Which is why it's kinda ridiculous that I have a class on them right now. It seems all we do is either go around talking about our favourites, or read REALLY obscure 1920s Russian treatises about folktale morphology and symbolism. Oy with the poodles already.)

WOO. EXCEPT I DON'T WANT TO PUBLICIZE BECAUSE I AM INSULAR. MAYBE I WILL WAIT A FEW DAYS SO IT DOESN'T SHOW UP ON FRIENDS PAGES?

Yay! That is good to hear. And OMG, that sounds not very productive but also fun. :P I have a book of obscure Russian fairy tales; wonder if that counts.

Oh, that's cool. This way I can just TELL my classmates about it, but be all, BUT YOU CAN'T ACTUALLY VOTE, HA HA!

...Sometimes I suspect I'm a lot meaner than I'd like to be. ;DDD

And totally counts. Vladimir Propp would be all over your fairytales. If you randomly find yourself in Halifax in the next month, I'll def take you to my class. &hearts

AHAHAHA. I love being included in things and gloating about it. So I guess we're both mean. ♥

I feel weird doing something this silly and fannish in an un-friends-protected way. Also there are people I want to avoid who are still watching my journal. BUT I MAY COME BACK AND PUBLICIZE THIS ANYWAY FOR FUN. Because I bet your classmates are cool.

Dude! ♥ How I wish I could randomly find myself in Halifax. You know, my family is still up in the air about if we are going anywhere this summer, and my dad has always wanted to visit there ... I should start lobbying. ;)

YAY, WE CAN BE MEAN TOGETHER. &hearts

And if you get to visit Halifax this summer, I will actually asplode. ;) Especially as it'll be my last few months living in the city (*sobs*) and I can be all "LOOK AT THIS, LOOK AT THIS!" ;DDD

THAT WOULD BE AMAZING. WE SHOULD DO IT. ♥ ♥

Also the Fairy Tale Balloon Poll is now public! So ADVERTISE AWAY if you so choose. :P

DON'T PANIC

We celebrate peace. Yet we pay no attention to the ways of curing aggression in human beings. And when one sees in psychoanalysis hostility disappearing as people conquer their fears, one wonders if the cure is not there.
